Departure from France
We get up at 4.15 am, the suitcases had been fastened the day before. We leave Brest under the clouds hoping to find a better weather a few hours later under other latitudes. We land in Paris with a 20 minutes’delay, “problem due to the air control” tells us the captain. We still have to wait 5 hours in Roissy.
The UL 564 to Colombo takes off at 2.00 pm as planned. There we are in that A340-300 Airbus for about ten hours. Shortly after the takeoff, exotic smells come all over the cabin. The first Sri-Lankan meal, a little surprising for our French taste, appears to be quite correct.
